PCOM specialises in the sale and marketing of fiber optics as well as in the provision of device connectivity solutions for homes and businesses.   

Established in 1999 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, PCOM initially focused on a business-to-business model and is currently in pole position in the provision of fiber optic cabling and digital audio visual (AV) connectivity products, services and solutions.  

Under the leadership of its founder and Chief Executive Officer, K.C. Lim, PCOM has through the years evolved to become the Expert for the Experts as the company supports and provides training and consultancy services to major telecommunication companies and AV retail players in the country. Its consultancy services include designing, planning, installing, testing and commissioning of Integrated Smart Building Architecture (ISBA) for both businesses and homes.

For the business sector, PCOM offers connectivity products and solutions such as digital signage, high definition distribution and software. Furthermore, the company has taken to developing its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) solution in recent years, working with major telecommunication companies to bring the solution to home owners in Malaysia.

However, the recent advances in wireless communication, information technologies and increasing fiber optic speeds in Malaysia have allowed PCOM to expand its business offerings to the retail sector. Supported by sound industry knowledge and research, PCOM is today able to reach out to consumers directly. Its vision is to provide integrated connectivity solutions to make the smart home concept a reality by focusing on safe living and bringing high speed and high definition to Malaysian homes, at zero quality loss.

PCOM is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company and has established a formal quality system which documents organisation, responsibilities, procedures and working practices which fulfill the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.

All goods are manufactured using approved materials of the highest quality that meet the original manufacturer's specifications or national and international standards. Each item is tested prior to release to ensure full compliance with the required specifications. Where necessary, certificates of conformance are provided. Unless otherwise stated, all goods and assemblies are covered by a 12-month warranty.

TRAINING

As the leading fibre optic specialist in the country, PCOM regularly conducts training workshops on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Digital Audio Video (AV) focusing on network design and project management. Customers that have benefited from these training sessions include major Telco in Malaysia as well as independent system FTTH and AV contractors. The workshops and counselling sessions are educational and beneficial and are designed to assist PCOM customers to utilise and adapt to current and emerging technology.

HIGH SPEED HIGH DEFINITION (HSHD) TEST LAB

PCOM offers product customisation services and product testing through its HSHD test laboratory. The laboratory serves to help AV retail players such as Sony, Samsung, Philips and Toshiba customise and provide digital links from audio visual sources to display set-ups.

THE ROCK

To showcase how a conventional home can be made ‘smart’ through the adoption of FTTH and HSHD technologies, PCOM has invested heavily in setting up “The Rock”. The Rock is the first and only showroom of its kind in Southeast Asia that has been wired up to present the solutions and applications of high speed broadband that can transfer up to 1 gigabit per second of data, without any compromise on speed, content and service quality. The Rock has also been set up to demonstrate the transmission of high definition (HD) content with digital audio visual such as movies, games, photos, music and other publicly downloadable content.

HOME BRANDS

While PCOM’s core business is in the provision of fibre optics and device connectivity solutions, the company also manufactures its own High Density and FTTH products under two brands – Giraffe™ and Speed Home™, respectively.
